If Odol Bianchi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Quintán León charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Quintán León the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 4 minutes into the game, one of Lautaro L.P.:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave U. de Tarapacá a penalty, 6 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Rodrigo Astudillo, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Lautaro L.P.'s Podador Santelices. 1-0. 10 minutes into the match, U. de Tarapacá's goal looked a bit too open when Pate Vaca came free, but Fidelio Herboso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lautaro L.P.'s Podador Santelices proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Lautaro L.P. from getting a goal against them. Doctor Arteche charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Doctor Arteche the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 25 played minutes Lautaro L.P. got a freekick which was hit by Doctor Arteche. 26 minutes into the match, Lautaro L.P.'s goal looked a bit too open when Odol Bianchi came free, but Podador Santelices reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. U. de Tarapacá's Fidelio Herboso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pol Botero in the 27th minute of play. Fidelio Herboso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pol Botero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 33 minutes into the match, Juan Jose Navarro notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of U. de Tarapacá's Fidelio Herboso. Fidelio Herboso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Isaac Asimov charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Isaac Asimov the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Isaac Asimov kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Podador Santelices was out of position in the 39 minute of play, and Miren Guilisasti capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Miren Guilisasti really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when José Alberto Alonso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Miren Guilisasti left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U. de Tarapacá fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. In the 54th match minute, U. de Tarapacá was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Echedey Echenique to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Lautaro L.P. booed when U. de Tarapacá was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Javier Carreto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Saturnín Vicuña kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Fidelio Herboso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Doctor Arteche, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 71st minute, Raimundo Donaire hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Isaac Asimov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Fidelio Herboso made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pol Botero in the 80th minute of play forced U. de Tarapacá's goalkeeper Fidelio Herboso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 83 minutes, Javier Carreto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U. de Tarapacá and the Lautaro L.P. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Javier Carreto hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Fidelio Herboso acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 84th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Hugo Orlando Pazols. Juan Jose Navarro struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Fidelio Herboso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lautaro L.P.. Rodrigo Astudillo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 91st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Podador Santelices. Lautaro L.P.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to U. de Tarapacá getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Javier Carreto hit a great ball. In the 97th minute of the match Hugo Orlando Pazols shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fidelio Herboso showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The U. de Tarapacá fans cheered their team off the field, for while Lautaro L.P. had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
