Zavier Prenafeta made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Ismael Irisarri sent off a good shot on target. With 13 minutes on the clock, Ermegildo Marsano commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Cobresal fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 12th minute. Penalty! A collision led to Cobresal getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Eriberto Pincheira hit a great ball. 17 minutes into the game, Mercurio Miquel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Elton Tin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Hugo Ferrada hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. U. de Tarapacá's Elton Tin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mercurio Miquel in the 22nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, U. de Tarapacá's Odol Bianchi got a free kick in the 25th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Cobresal's zone, Emanuel Pozo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zavier Prenafeta came out of the goal and Emanuel Pozo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Cobresal booed when U. de Tarapacá was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bartolomé Romero didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 41 minutes of play, U. de Tarapacá's José Alberto Alonso made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zavier Prenafeta was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 45th minute, U. de Tarapacá's Elvis Nieto ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Zavier Prenafeta. Zavier Prenafeta yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Elvis Nieto made a kick off. A collision led to Cobresal getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Delmiro Manghy hit a great ball. In the 59th minute, Emanuel Pozo made a precise shot to the right of Zavier Prenafeta. Cobresal's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. Zavier Prenafeta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Pozo in the 65th minute of play. After 69 minutes, Eriberto Pincheira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cobresal and the U. de Tarapacá players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ismael Irisarri kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Zavier Prenafeta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Alberto Alonso, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. In the 92nd minute, Delmiro Manghy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elvis Nieto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zavier Prenafeta having to interfere. Mercurio Miquel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Elton Tin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
