CSD Concepción's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Poulus Pedraza in the 19th minute of play forced CDU Católica's goalkeeper Claudio Ledea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Teofilo Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Baltazar Lobos who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 27thth minute tested the skills of Marino Alzola when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Baltazar Lobos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Claudio Ledea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teofilo Barros, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 35th match minute, CSD Concepción was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jaume Balcazar to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, CDU Católica's Firmín Elizalde got a free kick in the 42nd minute. After the first half CSD Concepción were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Teofilo Barros to make the kick off. In the 71st minute, Teofilo Barros fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Claudio Ledea, passed just outside the right post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cerilo Allu in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marino Alzola saved CSD Concepción from getting behind. CDU Católica's Claudio Ledea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santiago Macuer in the 76th minute of play. If Poulus Pedraza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teofilo Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rodrigo Huaquil hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Teofilo Barros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Claudio Ledea made a huge save. In the 95th minute, Omar Salah hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle sounded CSD Concepción left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than CDU Católica.
