Anaya Ledrado started the match with the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bartoleme Sarro in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fiz Umpanera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fiz Umpanera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lluterio Mendibuey in the 10th minute of the match. Gillermo Soliz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Washington Aguerre having to interfere. A collision led to MetalGarurumon F.C getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Anaya Ledrado hit a great ball. After 20 minutes, Bartoleme Sarro made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. MetalGarurumon F.C's Fiz Umpanera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Washington Aguerre showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abelardo Hernández, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After 23 played minutes Deportivo Peñarol FIFV got a freekick which was hit by Huly Sayago. Santos Manso hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Marcelo Zalayeta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fiz Umpanera having to interfere. After some careless play in the Deportivo Peñarol FIFV defense, Santos Manso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Washington Aguerre. The Deportivo Peñarol FIFV fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Washington Aguerre should have stopped the shot. Fiz Umpanera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Zalayeta in the 31st minute of play. MetalGarurumon F.C's Fiz Umpanera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lluterio Mendibuey in the 34th minute of play. Lluterio Mendibuey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Washington Aguerre took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abelardo Hernández, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 47th minute Lluterio Mendibuey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fiz Umpanera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The supporters of MetalGarurumon F.C booed when Deportivo Peñarol FIFV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bartoleme Sarro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcelo Zalayeta's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Fiz Umpanera firmly grabbed it by the left post. Fiz Umpanera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lluterio Mendibuey in the 65th minute. Abelardo Hernández scored 2-1 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Washington Aguerre, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Marcelo Zalayeta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Fiz Umpanera made a huge save. After having played for 78 minutes, Bartoleme Sarro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bartoleme Sarro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fiz Umpanera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bartoleme Sarro, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. After some careless play in the MetalGarurumon F.C defense, Marcelo Zalayeta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fiz Umpanera. The MetalGarurumon F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fiz Umpanera should have stopped the shot. 86 minutes into the game, Marcelo Zalayeta recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Fiz Umpanera. Marcelo Zalayeta showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. Marcelo Zalayeta came free with the goalkeeper in the 90th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Fiz Umpanera could save by the left post. In the 92nd minute of the match, Marcelo Zalayeta got a very nice opportunity to score, but Fiz Umpanera was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. MetalGarurumon F.C's Fiz Umpanera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save MetalGarurumon F.C from getting a goal against them.
