In the 38th minute of the match Machado Pellicer sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Raul Platas skillfully saved the ball. 42 minutes into the match, PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's goal looked a bit too open when Hulberto Arias came free, but Arturo Gordo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Milian Cañete fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arturo Gordo having to interfere. Endira Freire could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Raul Platas made a huge save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when Endira Freire made the kick off in the second half. Olivar Carpio's late challenge caught a PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Olivar Carpio helped the player get up and apologised. After 50 played minutes Atletico Maturrango got a freekick which was hit by Olivar Carpio. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Milian Cañete managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atletico Maturrango's supporters rose to their feet, but Milian Cañete was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arturo Gordo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Arturo Gordo was out of position in the 59 minute of play, and Hulberto Arias capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Hulberto Arias really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. Atletico Maturrango's Raul Platas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Endira Freire in the 62nd minute of play. After 85 minutes of play PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's Endira Freire was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Ler Tofino kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Atletico Maturrango's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
