The audience thought a goal was coming when Abdulbaki Boratay got free with Okanalp Kutlubay in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Bozkurt booed when AYYILDIZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bektaş Ali Enginalp didn't get a good kick on the ball. 17 minutes into the match, AYYILDIZ's goalkeeper Okanalp Kutlubay had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by İbrahim Ethem Kapar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Selim Tezeren in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Boran Gencal saved Bozkurt from getting behind. After having played for 34 minutes, Abdulbaki Boratay managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bozkurt's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abdulbaki Boratay was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 38 minutes into the match, Atalay Şahtürk dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Okanalp Kutlubay, 1-0. Okanalp Kutlubay made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when İbrahim Ethem Kapar sent off a good shot on target. If Abdulbaki Boratay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Okanalp Kutlubay took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abdulbaki Boratay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, AYYILDIZ's Aykutalp Evcimen got a free kick in the 54th minute. Erkut Uğursay charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Erkut Uğursay the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Bozkurt booed when AYYILDIZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erkut Uğursay didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abdulbaki Boratay in the 58th minute of play forced AYYILDIZ's goalkeeper Okanalp Kutlubay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 63rd minute, Tamer Torhan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Okanalp Kutlubay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from İbrahim Ethem Kapar in the 68th minute of play. AYYILDIZ's Okanalp Kutlubay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abdulbaki Boratay in the 71st minute of play. After some careless play in the AYYILDIZ defense, İbrahim Ethem Kapar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Okanalp Kutlubay. The supporters of AYYILDIZ booed when Bozkurt was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Süruri Tahir didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Özalp Hasankeyf managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bozkurt's supporters rose to their feet, but Özalp Hasankeyf was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Okanalp Kutlubay breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. AYYILDIZ's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
