After 42 minutes of play, Hilsea's Rory Downham made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jesus Satordi was left in no man's land by his defense there! 45 minutes into the match, Hilsea's goal looked a bit too open when Cvetin Luković came free, but John England reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ed Moore charged in rather forcefully in the 48th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tristram Fuller to make the kick off. When Elizabeth Three Lions FC's Galin Nikov in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Michail Antonio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but John England made a huge save. 75 minutes into the game, Galin Nikov recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of John England. Galin Nikov showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-3. Hilsea's players were relieved. 79 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hilsea's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ed Moore was slow to take the kick. During this time Elizabeth Three Lions FC's players had a chance to rest. Elizabeth Three Lions FC's Ed Moore was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but John England in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 91stth minute of the game Galin Nikov who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hilsea's John England was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 91 minutes, Galin Nikov made it 3-5 with a short kick to the right side. Hilsea's John England tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 99th minute Galin Nikov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but John England saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
