A hard shot 5 in the game by Júlio Severo from a close distance when the talented John England managed to make a qualified save. Hilsea's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgar Lang in the 7th minute of play forced Hilsea's goalkeeper John England to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Júlio Severos short, quick shot in the 8thth minute got John England to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 9 minutes Hilsea's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Sammy Corcoran who took care of the corner kick. John England showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Júlio Severo in the 11th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Hilsea's Tristram Fuller got a free kick in the 15th minute. John England made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Júlio Severo sent off a good shot on target. Hilsea's John England played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sammy Corcoran in the 19th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Edgar Lang's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but John England was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Nicolas Joey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kenny Dobson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 1-0 became the score in the 30th minute when Edgar Lang elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. John England showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgar Lang, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. In the 36th minute Tristram Fuller shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolas Joey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 38th match minute, Hilsea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marc Nelthorpe to maneuver through the defense. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when FC ARK CS's Edgar Lang in the 39th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but John England was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Hilsea through an amazing save. 40 minutes into the match, Hilsea's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Lang came free, but John England reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 47 minutes into the match, FC ARK CS's Edgar Lang sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that John England narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tristram Fuller was the one to do the kick off. If Júlio Severo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 56th minute Júlio Severo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but John England saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 64thth minute of the game Edgar Lang who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hilsea's John England was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hilsea's John England played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Júlio Severo in the 70th minute of play. Nicolas Joey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tristram Fuller in the 73rd minute of play. In the 76th minute Júlio Severo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but John England saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 77 minutes Hilsea's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Sammy Corcoran who took care of the corner kick. The corner led FC ARK CS's Barry Charles to fire away a dangerous shot which John England despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Rory Downham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 83rd minute Júlio Severo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but John England saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. John England took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Júlio Severo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nicolas Joey made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rory Downham in the 86th minute. 87 minutes into the match, FC ARK CS's goal looked a bit too open when Christopher Gray came free, but Nicolas Joey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rory Downham in the 89thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Nicolas Joey, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Júlio Severo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Hilsea players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for FC ARK CS.
