A nice corner shot did that Gianluca Infante got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Hannes Sandwall quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gerry Greenfield during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alan Young fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin Cuss having to interfere. Benjamin Cuss took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oscar Drake, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 13th minute Cacá Mangione shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hannes Sandwall saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 15 minutes had been played when some careless play by Leicester Foxes Academy's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gianluca Infante was slow to take the kick. During this time Goo Goo Dolls's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Gianluca Infante got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Hannes Sandwall quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. If Felipe Gol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benjamin Cuss showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oscar Drake in the 18th minute of the match. Cacá Mangione could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Hannes Sandwall made a huge save. Olimpiu Dragnea's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Hannes Sandwall firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Leicester Foxes Academy's goalkeeper Hannes Sandwall, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Leicester Foxes Academy's Alan Young got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 35 played minutes Leicester Foxes Academy got a freekick which was hit by Martin Ericsson. Olimpiu Dragneas short, quick shot in the 37thth minute got Hannes Sandwall to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A collision led to Goo Goo Dolls getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Olimpiu Dragnea hit a great ball. Leicester Foxes Academy's Hannes Sandwall proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Leicester Foxes Academy from getting a goal against them. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cacá Mangione stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Oscar Drake could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Benjamin Cuss made a huge save. Hannes Sandwall showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cacá Mangione, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Goo Goo Dolls's Kenny Anson was substituted for Dom Rusby. The supporters of Goo Goo Dolls booed when Leicester Foxes Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Young didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hannes Sandwall took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Lane, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 76th minute of the match, Alan Young got a very nice opportunity to score, but Benjamin Cuss was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Leicester Foxes Academy were awarded a corner in the 78th minute after Goo Goo Dolls's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Niles Andrews took the corner. 78 minutes into the match, Martin Margarson notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Goo Goo Dolls's Benjamin Cuss. Benjamin Cuss was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Benjamin Cuss showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipe Gol in the 83rd minute of the match. After 83 played minutes Felipe Gol rounded Goo Goo Dolls's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-2. After a rather tough play, Goo Goo Dolls's Gerry Greenfield got a free kick in the 86th minute. In the 87th minute of the match Niles Andrews shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benjamin Cuss showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Peter Pennant got free with Benjamin Cuss in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hannes Sandwall made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cacá Mangione in the 92nd minute of play. Benjamin Cuss was out of position in the 93 minute of play, and Peter Pennant capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Peter Pennant really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3.
