The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Crystal Phallus's Donny Rowell proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Crystal Phallus from getting a goal against them. Goo Goo Dolls's Benjamin Cuss played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franz Clifton in the 5th minute of play. Donny Rowell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cacá Mangione, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cacá Mangione in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Donny Rowell prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Donny Rowell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cacá Mangione in the 13th minute of the match. With his leg Donny Rowell managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when Goo Goo Dolls's Olimpiu Dragnea fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Olimpiu Dragnea did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Donny Rowell 14 minutes into the match. 23 minutes into the match, Crystal Phallus's goalkeeper Donny Rowell had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felix Lane. Felix Lane came free with the goalkeeper in the 26th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Donny Rowell could save by the left post. Martyn Kemp kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Franz Clifton in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benjamin Cuss saved Goo Goo Dolls from getting behind. In the 37thth minute of the game Franz Clifton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Goo Goo Dolls's Benjamin Cuss was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 40th minute Franz Clifton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin Cuss saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Borys Zalewski kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Goo Goo Dolls's Gerry Greenfield shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 42nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Donny Rowell but with some difficulty. Donny Rowell was a little too slow when Matteo Gillis got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 43rd minute. The score was now 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cacá Mangione was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Batıkan Berksan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Crystal Phallus's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Goo Goo Dolls the free kick. Batıkan Berksan hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cacá Mangione in the 57th minute of play forced Crystal Phallus's goalkeeper Donny Rowell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Goo Goo Dolls's Teddy Ball got a free kick in the 59th minute. Donny Rowell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teddy Ball in the 61st minute of the match. In the 67th minute Cacá Mangione shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donny Rowell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Frazer Llewellyn fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Crystal Phallus's protests and gave Frazer Llewellyn a yellow card for diving instead. In the 73rd minute, Frazer Llewellyn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Goo Goo Dolls made a substitution. Kenny Anson replaced Dom Rusby. If Noel Bush had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Goo Goo Dolls's Cacá Mangione in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cacá Mangione in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Donny Rowell saved Crystal Phallus from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Goo Goo Dolls's zone, Noel Bush stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benjamin Cuss came out of the goal and Noel Bush tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Donny Rowell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cacá Mangione in the 87th minute of play. 89 minutes into the match, Cacá Mangione had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Donny Rowell. Crystal Phallus's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cacá Mangione was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. When Ben Whittingham fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Crystal Phallus's protests and gave Ben Whittingham a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Goo Goo Dolls fans cheered their team off the field, for while Crystal Phallus had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
