After 35 minutes, Sakis Melisofagos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cyprus Eagles AFC and the Olympiacos FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 35th match minute, Cyprus Eagles AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sakis Melisofagos to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Themos Vranas in the 36th minute of play forced Cyprus Eagles AFC's goalkeeper Pavlos Fotiadis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
