After a defensive mix-up in AFC Ajax's zone, Thanasis Robos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Akis Sarafis came out of the goal and Thanasis Robos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. YELLOW FC's Vaggelis Lalas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Markos Seremetidis in the 14th minute of play. YELLOW FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Paul Grosso in the 20th minute. 22 minutes into the game, Michelangelo Merganiotis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Vaggelis Lalas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Vaggelis Lalas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Markos Seremetidis in the 27th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Markos Seremetidis in the 30th minute of play forced YELLOW FC's goalkeeper Vaggelis Lalas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of YELLOW FC booed when AFC Ajax was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lakis Tsopakis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Michelangelo Merganiotis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vaggelis Lalas having to interfere. AFC Ajax's Michelangelo Merganiotis managed to work through YELLOW FC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Michelangelo Merganiotis dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. In the 45th match minute, AFC Ajax was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lakis Tsopakis to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th match minute, AFC Ajax was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lambis Zacharatos to maneuver through the defense. AFC Ajax's Bob Marley was substituted for Markos Seremetidis. In the 48th match minute, AFC Ajax was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lambis Zacharatos to maneuver through the defense. The audience held their breath when Pavlos Kopitsis in the 50th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Akis Sarafis's left hand side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jan-Olof Kämpe made a kick off. YELLOW FC's Vaggelis Lalas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save YELLOW FC from getting a goal against them. After 58 played minutes AFC Ajax got a freekick which was hit by Michelangelo Merganiotis. AFC Ajax's Aureo Morera was substituted for German Sarracino. Michelangelo Merganiotis kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Akis Sarafis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan-Olof Kämpe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vaggelis Lalas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bob Marley, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Vaggelis Lalas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bob Marley in the 67th minute of the match. AFC Ajax's Akis Sarafis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan-Olof Kämpe in the 69th minute of play. Akis Sarafis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan-Olof Kämpe, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. In the 73rd match minute, YELLOW FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nontas Ntalakouras to maneuver through the defense. YELLOW FC's Vaggelis Lalas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bob Marley in the 74th minute of play. The corner ended in Lambis Zacharatos almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but YELLOW FC's Vaggelis Lalas did a great save. With an all-out effort, AFC Ajax's Vaggelis Lalas threw himself towards the right post 75 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Michelangelo Merganiotis, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. AFC Ajax's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Miltos Margaritidis in the 80th minute. Akis Sarafis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thanasis Robos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vaggelis Lalas made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Bob Marley sent off a good shot on target. Bob Marley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vaggelis Lalas having to interfere. Vaggelis Lalas came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by AFC Ajax's Bob Marley. But to his dismay, Bob Marley quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Thomas Kallergis kicked well hit freekick during the 98th minute of the match. The YELLOW FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching AFC Ajax's performance. The match ended with a win for AFC Ajax.
