The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 6 minutes, Zoltán Hubina managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maritza's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zoltán Hubina was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hans Curtis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zoltán Hubina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 15 minutes, Zbigniew Paraszczuk managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hans Curtis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zoltán Hubina in the 16th minute. If Zeng Jing Yue had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 19th minute, Pavlin Dzhegalski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marin Nikolkov got free with Hans Curtis in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 26 minutes into the match, VN FC Spartak-Varna's goal looked a bit too open when Zoltán Hubina came free, but Hans Curtis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Hans Curtis managed to avoid a goal in the 28thth minute, when Maritza's Marin Nikolkov fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 29 played minutes VN FC Spartak-Varna got a freekick which was hit by Kaloyan Shavarski. The audience was convinced that Zeng Jing Yue's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hans Curtis was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Pavlin Dzhegalski kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Danail Mitzakov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zbigniew Paraszczuk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Danail Mitzakov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danny Valentin in the 37th minute of play. The supporters of Maritza booed when VN FC Spartak-Varna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ademar Cabral didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Milan Eftimov fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored VN FC Spartak-Varna's protests and gave Milan Eftimov a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Maritza booed when VN FC Spartak-Varna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Milan Eftimov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Feliks Chwalkiewicz might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hans Curtis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Feliks Chwalkiewicz ran back to his position shaking his head.

The wind increased when Marin Nikolkov made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, VN FC Spartak-Varna's goal looked a bit too open when Zeng Jing Yue came free, but Hans Curtis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Zeng Jing Yue put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Hans Curtis. After 57 minutes, Marin Nikolkov made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. VN FC Spartak-Varna's Hans Curtis tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Hans Curtis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zeng Jing Yue in the 63rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, VN FC Spartak-Varna's Ademar Cabral got a free kick in the 65th minute. 66 minutes into the game, Zoltán Hubina cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Hans Curtis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 75th minute Zoltán Hubina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hans Curtis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zeng Jing Yue recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hans Curtis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zeng Jing Yue, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. In the 86th minute Miladin Bikarski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hans Curtis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Peter Boklund during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Peter Boklund kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Yancho Motev hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. If Zoltán Hubina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Maritza fans' excitement grew in the 95th match minute when Maritza's Marin Nikolkov looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Maritza's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
