The audience thought a goal was coming when Venko Petrov got free with Hans Curtis in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 13 played minutes VN FC Spartak-Varna got a freekick which was hit by Kaloyan Shavarski. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paun Atkov in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hans Curtis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. VN FC Spartak-Varna's Hans Curtis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save VN FC Spartak-Varna from getting a goal against them. In the 18th minute of the match FC Bansko got a corner. VN FC Spartak-Varna's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ivan Toromanov ran over to the corner to take the kick. Dimitar Vetzov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ademar Cabral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dimitar Vetzov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zbigniew Paraszczuk, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 28th minute Paun Atkov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hans Curtis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 30th minute Danny Valentin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dimitar Vetzov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paun Atkov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. VN FC Spartak-Varna's Hans Curtis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paun Atkov in the 31st minute of play. Benjamin Lundgren hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. The supporters of FC Bansko booed when VN FC Spartak-Varna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Danny Valentin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dimitar Vetzov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benjamin Lundgren in the 41st minute of play. Breogan Campoo thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Dimitar Vetzov, a very annoying self made goal in the 43rd minute which led to 1-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zbigniew Paraszczuk was the one to do the kick off. VN FC Spartak-Varna's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Venko Petrov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. FC Bansko's Nedelcho Gutzov was substituted for Venko Petrov. FC Bansko's Allan Magnusson was substituted for Ivan Toromanov. VN FC Spartak-Varna's Hans Curtis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paun Atkov in the 88th minute of play. 89 minutes into the match, VN FC Spartak-Varna's goal looked a bit too open when Nedelcho Gutzov came free, but Hans Curtis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Danny Valentin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dimitar Vetzov. That made the score 2-2 in the 90 minute of play. 95 minutes into the match, FC Bansko's goal looked a bit too open when Zbigniew Paraszczuk came free, but Dimitar Vetzov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
