The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute of the match, Cecilio Ortzi tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Bruno Untermann saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Bruno Untermann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cecilio Ortzi in the 5th minute of play. Waldo Gawletta made a great header on Vorwärts Lübeck's corner, it was just that Give Peace a Chance's Bruno Untermann managed to reach the ball for a save. After a rather tough play, Give Peace a Chance's Silvester Schwede got a free kick in the 9th minute. Severino Casero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 11th match minute, Vorwärts Lübeck was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giorgos Tsiantakis to maneuver through the defense. When Waldo Gawletta came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Vorwärts Lübeck fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Waldo Gawletta couldn't finish the play. Bruno Untermann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severino Casero in the 19th minute of play. Abubakar Noach showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mattias Hilger, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. In the 21st minute of the match, Severino Casero got a very nice opportunity to score, but Bruno Untermann was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 24 minutes into the match, Vorwärts Lübeck's goal looked a bit too open when Mattias Hilger came free, but Abubakar Noach reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Give Peace a Chance booed when Vorwärts Lübeck was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marek Tomporowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute Cecilio Ortzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Untermann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Odilo Pusch hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Bruno Untermann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eberhard Kobe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 43 minutes into the match, Give Peace a Chance's goalkeeper Bruno Untermann had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Severino Casero. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Severino Casero made a kick off. Marek Tomporowski blasted a shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bruno Untermann having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cecilio Ortzi in the 54th minute of play forced Give Peace a Chance's goalkeeper Bruno Untermann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mattias Hilger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bruno Untermann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cecilio Ortzi in the 59th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Vorwärts Lübeck's Anders Myrvang got a free kick in the 60th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Werner Zernicke in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Abubakar Noach saved Vorwärts Lübeck from getting behind. Bruno Untermann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marek Tomporowski in the 68th minute of the match. Marek Tomporowski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 73rd minute Silvester Schwede shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abubakar Noach saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mattias Hilger could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Abubakar Noach made a huge save. Werner Zernicke blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Abubakar Noach having to make a save. Vorwärts Lübeck's Abubakar Noach proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Vorwärts Lübeck from getting a goal against them. Giorgos Tsiantakis hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. After 88 played minutes Vorwärts Lübeck got a freekick which was hit by Giorgos Tsiantakis. In the 95th minute, Vorwärts Lübeck's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Mattias Hilger fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post.
