In the 16th minute, Denis Jilăveanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gigel Cozma was a little too slow when Maxim Sfetcu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 20th minute. The score was now 1-0. Zygmunt Koprowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gonzo Ivanov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Gonzo Ivanov's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zygmunt Koprowski was relentless in the 35th minute of the game.
