With a couple of smart ball manuevers Viorel Iacobescu in the 2nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nae Pavel saved U Craiova from getting behind. 3 minutes had been played when some careless play by U Craiova's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Aurelian Odobescu was slow to take the kick. During this time FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Sever Crăiniceanu almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but U Craiova's Nae Pavel did a great save. FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s Viorel Iacobescu got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. U Craiova's Nae Pavel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ciprian Halipa in the 7th minute of play. In the 9th minute FC PIETROSUL -MM- were awarded a corner. Aurelian Odobescu went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 11th minute, Aurelian Odobescu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nae Pavel was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. A collision led to U Craiova getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Xu Guang Jun hit a great ball. U Craiova's Nae Pavel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viorel Iacobescu in the 15th minute of play. After 16 minutes U Craiova's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Aurelian Odobescu who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s corner Aurelian Odobescu fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Nae Pavel quite easily take care of the ball. Felix Codin took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 17th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nae Pavel. U Craiova's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s goalkeeper Niculae Rădvan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 22 minutes into the match, U Craiova's goal looked a bit too open when Aurelian Odobescu came free, but Nae Pavel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute, FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Romeo Crețulescu fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Niculae Rădvan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horea Frumușanu in the 27th minute of the match. In the 28th minute Horea Frumușanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niculae Rădvan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Viorel Iacobescu in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nae Pavel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nae Pavel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viorel Iacobescu in the 32nd minute of play. Niculae Rădvan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horea Frumușanu in the 37th minute of play. Nae Pavel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viorel Iacobescu in the 38th minute of the match. Horaţiu Pintilie kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. 43 minutes into the match, U Craiova's goal looked a bit too open when Viorel Iacobescu came free, but Nae Pavel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Romeo Crețulescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Niculae Rădvan made a huge save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s Cristi Ciprian was substituted for Viorel Iacobescu. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Horea Frumușanu made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Aurelian Odobescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s supporters rose to their feet, but Aurelian Odobescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nae Pavel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 62 minutes, Udegbunam Ike mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U Craiova and the FC PIETROSUL -MM- players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 62 played minutes U Craiova got a freekick which was hit by Udegbunam Ike. In the 63rd minute, Cristi Ciprian got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to U Craiova getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Horea Frumușanu hit a great ball. Aurel Teodoroiu hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the U Craiova defense, Cristi Ciprian kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nae Pavel. The U Craiova fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nae Pavel should have stopped the shot. In the 73rd minute of the match Sandu Porumbescu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nae Pavel skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of U Craiova booed when FC PIETROSUL -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aurelian Odobescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 79 played minutes FC PIETROSUL -MM- got a freekick which was hit by Aurelian Odobescu. Aurelian Odobescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nae Pavel having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristi Ciprian in the 83rd minute of play forced U Craiova's goalkeeper Nae Pavel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Aurelian Odobescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s Cristi Ciprian in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye U Craiova's goalie prevented a goal. Nae Pavel made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Sever Crăiniceanu sent off a good shot on target. Narcis Silişteanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 92nd minute of the match U Craiova got a corner. FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dorin Cârstoiu ran over to the corner to take the kick. U Craiova's Dorin Cârstoiu was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Niculae Rădvan in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Udegbunam Ike kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. 94 minutes into the match, U Craiova's goalkeeper Nae Pavel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristi Ciprian. 96 minutes into the match, FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s Aurelian Odobescu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nae Pavel narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
