Gheorghe Herea might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nae Pavel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gheorghe Herea ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, U Craiova's Nae Pavel got control of the ball when Gheorghe Herea tried to sneak it across the goal line. The corner led FC Brink's Gheorghe Herea to fire away a dangerous shot which Nae Pavel despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Gheorghe Herea might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nae Pavel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gheorghe Herea ran back to his position shaking his head. Philip Seistrup hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Dorin Cârstoiu got a throw-in 17 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Călin Pamfil. If Gheorghe Herea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gheorghe Herea in the 19th minute of play forced U Craiova's goalkeeper Nae Pavel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Brink's Pompiliu Zmărăndescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horea Frumușanu in the 22nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Gheorghe Herea could shoot a difficult shot in the 24th minute, which Nae Pavel however easily saved by the left post. The supporters of U Craiova booed when FC Brink was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Călin Macrea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pompiliu Zmărăndescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Narcis Silişteanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Nae Pavel made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Gheorghe Herea sent off a good shot on target. Jair Bostan hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Pompiliu Zmărăndescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horea Frumușanu in the 48th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gheorghe Herea was the one to do the kick off. Nae Pavel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gheorghe Herea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gheorghe Herea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Nae Pavel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 58 played minutes U Craiova got a freekick which was hit by Constantin Buzea. Nae Pavel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Răzvan Mumuleanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Călin Macrea hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Romeo Crețulescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Pompiliu Zmărăndescu made a huge save. Pompiliu Zmărăndescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Călin Pamfil in the 79th minute of the match. Pompiliu Zmărăndescu was out of position in the 82 minute of play, and Narcis Silişteanu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Narcis Silişteanu really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Horea Frumușanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. U Craiova's supporters rose to their feet, but Horea Frumușanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pompiliu Zmărăndescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of FC Brink booed when U Craiova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Udegbunam Ike didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 95th minute, Romeo Crețulescu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pompiliu Zmărăndescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2.
