Alex Team's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manuel Arruda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Alex Team's Ion Chificeac played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Avram Panaiteanu in the 53rd minute of play. Manuel Arruda's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Olimpiu Hârlău read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Carpathian Wolves's goalkeeper Olimpiu Hârlău, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Carpathian Wolves defense, Cornel Bodiu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Olimpiu Hârlău. The Carpathian Wolves fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Olimpiu Hârlău should have stopped the shot. Alex Team's defense didn't have a chance, in the 70th minute, when Timo Thorstein scored to the left of an out of position Ion Chificeac, making the score, 1-3.
