In the 10th match minute, Viola Invest was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mario Jakobe to maneuver through the defense. Aurelian Coporan made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Mario Jakobe sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Academia Rio's Aurelian Coporan got control of the ball when Stig-Åke Gabrielsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, Viola Invest's goal looked a bit too open when Radu Păvăloae came free, but Dumitru Doloman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Viola Invest booed when Academia Rio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Blănaru didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mario Jakobe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Aurelian Coporan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 23 minutes into the game, Viola Invest's Stig-Åke Gabrielsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aurelian Coporan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mario Jakobe got free with Aurelian Coporan in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice moves Mario Jakobe could shoot a difficult shot in the 28th minute, which Aurelian Coporan however easily saved by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sergiu Coșeriu in the 30th minute of play forced Viola Invest's goalkeeper Dumitru Doloman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stig-Åke Gabrielsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stig-Åke Gabrielsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurelian Coporan having to interfere. After 37 minutes, Kuuno Tälli made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Academia Rio's Aurelian Coporan tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sergiu Coșeriu was the one to do the kick off. Sergiu Coșeriu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Dumitru Doloman made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Kuuno Tälli's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aurelian Coporan was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kuuno Tälli in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aurelian Coporan saved Academia Rio from getting behind. When the match clock showed 53 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Kuuno Tälli sped through Academia Rio's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Aurelian Coporan. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kuuno Tälli in the 55th minute of play forced Academia Rio's goalkeeper Aurelian Coporan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th minute of the match Academia Rio got a corner. Viola Invest's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dumitru Pantelimon ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 60th minute Kuuno Tälli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurelian Coporan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stig-Åke Gabrielsson in the 64th minute of play forced Academia Rio's goalkeeper Aurelian Coporan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dorel Nedelciu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Dumitru Doloman made a huge save. Dumitru Doloman was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Sergiu Coșeriu showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-1 in the 67 minute of play. After 74 minutes, Kuuno Tälli made it 4-1 with a short kick to the right side. Academia Rio's Aurelian Coporan tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Academia Rio's Aurelian Coporan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mario Jakobe in the 81st minute of play. In the 82nd match minute, Academia Rio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Blănaru to maneuver through the defense. After 86 minutes, Kuuno Tälli mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Viola Invest and the Academia Rio players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Viola Invest's zone, Dorel Nedelciu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dumitru Doloman came out of the goal and Dorel Nedelciu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Sergiu Coșeriu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dumitru Doloman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dorel Nedelciu in the 95th minute. Viola Invest's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
