He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Oltul Slatina reached it. Marius Bălașa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iurie Avacariței in the 4th minute of play. If Avram Valerian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 7th minute Herbert Hök shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marius Bălașa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 11 minutes of play, FC Oltul Slatina's Iurie Avacariței made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marius Bălașa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gaudencio Ubarna struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Marius Bălașa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Oltul Slatina. Juventus Țiu's Marius Bălașa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaudencio Ubarna in the 27th minute of play. After 30 minutes of play, FC Oltul Slatina's Gelu Coman made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marius Bălașa was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Juventus Țiu's Alexandru Chiriloaie got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Herbert Hök recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Boteanu in the 36th minute of play forced FC Oltul Slatina's goalkeeper Manuel Lovinescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of FC Oltul Slatina booed when Juventus Țiu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mugurel Buda didn't get a good kick on the ball. 47 minutes into the game, FC Oltul Slatina's Gelu Coman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marius Bălașa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4.

The wind increased when Manuel Boteanu made the kick off in the second half. With 54 minutes on the clock, Mugurel Buda commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 54 played minutes Juventus Țiu got a freekick which was hit by Mugurel Buda. Juventus Țiu's Marius Bălașa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Juventus Țiu from getting a goal against them. When Ilie Armeanca came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Juventus Țiu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ilie Armeanca couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, Gelu Coman took a quick shot and it went in 0-5 without a chance for Marius Bălașa to make any attempt to save it. Gaudencio Ubarna was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 66th minute. FC Oltul Slatina's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gelu Coman in the 71st minute of play forced Juventus Țiu's goalkeeper Marius Bălașa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
