UFC STEAUA's João Massa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eric Pârlea in the 14th minute of play. A collision led to UFC STEAUA getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Corneliu Hurezeanu hit a great ball. In the 21st match minute, UFC STEAUA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emanuel Gheorghe to maneuver through the defense. In the 24th minute Braulio Castel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Massa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to UFC STEAUA getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Rafet Faydalı hit a great ball. F.C.BARLAD's Wojtek Szczęsny played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cezar Alexandru in the 30th minute of play. 31 minutes into the game, F.C.BARLAD's Braulio Castel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. João Massa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eric Pârlea was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Calistrat Bucuță in the 52nd minute of play forced UFC STEAUA's goalkeeper João Massa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 55 played minutes UFC STEAUA got a freekick which was hit by Hermengildo Jobo. Wojtek Szczęsny showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hermengildo Jobo in the 59th minute of the match. 64 minutes into the match, F.C.BARLAD's goal looked a bit too open when Nelson Mendoza came free, but Wojtek Szczęsny reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 68 minutes of play, UFC STEAUA's Cezar Alexandru made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wojtek Szczęsny was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Therkild Prendorf in the 71st minute of play forced F.C.BARLAD's goalkeeper Wojtek Szczęsny to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Calistrat Bucuță fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Massa having to interfere. F.C.BARLAD's Wojtek Szczęsny played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Therkild Prendorf in the 77th minute of play. The supporters of F.C.BARLAD booed when UFC STEAUA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Şamil Darcan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 82nd minute, F.C.BARLAD's Dumitru Surdu seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Dumitru Surdu the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of F.C.BARLAD protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Dumitru Surdu had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After a rather tough play, F.C.BARLAD's Dumitru Surdu got a free kick in the 83rd minute. The UFC STEAUA supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching F.C.BARLAD's performance. The match ended with a win for F.C.BARLAD.
