Granicerul's Remus Vuia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Şneapotă in the 8th minute of play. In the 9th minute of the match FC VULTURII LUGOJ got a corner. Granicerul's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Augustin Hurmuzescu ran over to the corner to take the kick. FC VULTURII LUGOJ's Leontin Trifu was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Remus Vuia in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Rafael Corrêa put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Remus Vuia. After a defensive mix-up in FC VULTURII LUGOJ's zone, Jack Ares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kartal Oğuz came out of the goal and Jack Ares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Granicerul's Remus Vuia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Corrêa in the 26th minute of play. If Jack Ares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of FC VULTURII LUGOJ booed when Granicerul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iordache Ioneasa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Laurențiu Ciocâltea kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Remus Vuia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gong Guang Yao, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. FC VULTURII LUGOJ were awarded a corner in the 34th minute after Granicerul's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Augustin Hurmuzescu took the corner. Leontin Trifu was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dinu Pelin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dinu Pelin in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kartal Oğuz saved FC VULTURII LUGOJ from getting behind. Granicerul were awarded a corner in the 57th minute after FC VULTURII LUGOJ's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Valeriu Zoreanu took the corner. After taking down the ball on Granicerul's corner Valeriu Zoreanu fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Kartal Oğuz quite easily take care of the ball. In the 58thth minute of the game Rafael Corrêa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Granicerul's Remus Vuia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael Corrêa in the 58th minute of play forced Granicerul's goalkeeper Remus Vuia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Granicerul's Jack Ares in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
