Cormoranii -MM-'s Eugen Boldur got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cormoranii -MM-'s Dino Zoff played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Ekblom in the 11th minute of play. Kjell Ennegren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harald Kranz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valer Uduleanu in the 22nd minute of play forced Sepsiszentgyörgy's goalkeeper Kjell Ennegren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kjell Ennegren stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valer Uduleanu's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Kjell Ennegren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harald Kranz in the 42nd minute of play. Kjell Ennegren came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Cormoranii -MM-'s Harald Kranz. But to his dismay, Harald Kranz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Valer Uduleanu was the one to do the kick off. Kjell Ennegren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eugen Boldur, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 53rd minute Eugen Boldur shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kjell Ennegren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Ekblom in the 55th minute of play forced Cormoranii -MM-'s goalkeeper Dino Zoff to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Sepsiszentgyörgy's Ştefan Goma got a free kick in the 56th minute. A hard shot by Marcel Vulpe from long distance, 57 minutes into the match, got Kjell Ennegren's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. With an all-out effort, Cormoranii -MM-'s Kjell Ennegren threw himself towards the right post 58 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eugen Boldur, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 59th minute, Harald Kranz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dino Zoff took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pavel Bosioc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bobby Fischer thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Dino Zoff, a very annoying self made goal in the 66th minute which led to 1-1. Dino Zoff showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dinu Augustin in the 71st minute of the match. Sepsiszentgyörgy made a substitution. Alaa Ciobica replaced Edvaldo Silveira. Kjell Ennegren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valer Uduleanu in the 79th minute of play. Sepsiszentgyörgy's Anton Bucur was substituted for Costel Stolnicu. Bobby Fischer hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. In the 87th minute, Gelu Merișor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcel Vulpe was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 88th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Sepsiszentgyörgy's Alaa Ciobica got a free kick in the 90th minute. In the 95th minute of the match Ştefan Goma shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dino Zoff showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.
