The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 6 minutes into the match, FC Alinborger's goalkeeper Tadeu Moraes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marian Balint. When Sebastian Bîlbă fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Alinborger's protests and gave Sebastian Bîlbă a yellow card for diving instead. Sebastian Bîlbă hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marin Emilianu in the 11th minute of play forced FC Alinborger's goalkeeper Tadeu Moraes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Traian Tatomir's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 15thth minute, Tadeu Moraes skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Marin Emilianu might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tadeu Moraes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. FC Alinborger's Tadeu Moraes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Schiau in the 34th minute of play. In the 38th minute, George Schiau left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The New York Red Bulls fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. With a little luck, FC Alinborger's Tadeu Moraes got control of the ball when Marian Balint tried to sneak it across the goal line. Traian Tatomir who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 46thth minute tested the skills of Tadeu Moraes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Traian Tatomir put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Tadeu Moraes. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marian Balint stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute George Schiau shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tadeu Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marin Emilianu in the 53rd minute of play forced FC Alinborger's goalkeeper Tadeu Moraes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, New York Red Bulls's Eduardo Pereyra got control of the ball when Angel Veronica tried to sneak it across the goal line. 56 minutes into the match, Marian Balint had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tadeu Moraes. In the 74th minute, FC Alinborger's Paul Buteanu seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Paul Buteanu the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of FC Alinborger protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Paul Buteanu had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 79 minutes into the match, FC Alinborger's goal looked a bit too open when Traian Tatomir came free, but Tadeu Moraes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tadeu Moraes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from George Schiau, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute.
