Marian Văduvescu made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Twan van Nistelrooij sent off a good shot on target. In the 13th minute of the match F.C. YKE got a corner. FC Steaua Pildesti's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Michael Jordan ran over to the corner to take the kick. Robert Antohi charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Robert Antohi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Robert Antohi hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. With a little luck, FC Steaua Pildesti's Marian Văduvescu got control of the ball when Traian Brăiloiu tried to sneak it across the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, F.C. YKE's goal looked a bit too open when Filip Paulescu came free, but Felix Leahu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Leahu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucian Stere in the 30th minute of the match. Marian Văduvescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mugur Ceaușescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Nistor Costandache kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Michael Jordan took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 40th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Marian Văduvescu. FC Steaua Pildesti's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Twan van Nistelrooij's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Marian Văduvescu firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 46th minute, Terry Doyle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47th match minute Michael Jordan ran free in the middle of the field and shot a long shot which scored behind a totally surprised Marian Văduvescu. 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Constantin Deșliu to strike the kick off in the second half. Marian Văduvescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Twan van Nistelrooij in the 53rd minute of the match. Zygmunt Dunajski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. F.C. YKE's Felix Leahu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save F.C. YKE from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Twan van Nistelrooij in the 76th minute of play forced FC Steaua Pildesti's goalkeeper Marian Văduvescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Steaua Pildesti's Marian Văduvescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Twan van Nistelrooij in the 79th minute of play. After 80 minutes FC Steaua Pildesti's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Michael Jordan who took care of the corner kick. Michael Jordan made a great header on F.C. YKE's corner, it was just that FC Steaua Pildesti's Marian Văduvescu managed to reach the ball for a save.
