The audience was convinced that William Rigg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ionel Panaitoiu was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. If William Rigg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Phoenix Strikers's Ionel Panaitoiu got control of the ball when William Rigg tried to sneak it across the goal line. William Rigg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ionel Panaitoiu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. The corner ended in Codruț Uncheşu almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Phoenix Strikers's Ionel Panaitoiu did a great save. After 15 played minutes Phoenix Strikers got a freekick which was hit by Luis Flores. When Ivan Galtero fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Phoenix Strikers's protests and gave Ivan Galtero a yellow card for diving instead. In the 19th minute, Ivan Galtero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Emmanuel Canturri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivan Galtero, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. When The Valar's William Rigg in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Phoenix Strikers's goalie prevented a goal. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, William Rigg put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Ionel Panaitoiu. In the 32nd match minute, The Valar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marian Otopeanu to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Mascovescu in the 33rd minute of play forced The Valar's goalkeeper Emmanuel Canturri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Valar's Codruț Uncheşu shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 36th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Ionel Panaitoiu but with some difficulty. In the 42nd minute William Rigg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ionel Panaitoiu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Emanuel Mascovescu to strike the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, The Valar's goalkeeper Emmanuel Canturri had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Traian Moldovan. 57 minutes into the match, Phoenix Strikers's Cristinel Eftimiu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Emmanuel Canturri narrowly saved just below the crossbar. William Rigg scored 3-0 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ionel Panaitoiu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. William Rigg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ionel Panaitoiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from William Rigg in the 63rd minute of play. Luis Flores hit a great ball. The supporters of The Valar booed when Phoenix Strikers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Flores didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 68th minute of the match Codruț Uncheşu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ionel Panaitoiu skillfully saved the ball.
