When the match clock showed 26 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Ion Moscu sped through PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Vlad Covrig. An unexpectedly hard shot by Federico De Rubeis in the 33rd minute of play forced PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goalkeeper Vlad Covrig to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vlad Covrig showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Federico De Rubeis in the 36th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The wind increased when Dumitru Mititelu made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Sever Giugiuc had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vlad Covrig. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sever Giugiuc was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Federico De Rubeis managed to get in a good position for a shot. AVANTUL PETRICANI's supporters rose to their feet, but Federico De Rubeis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vlad Covrig breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 65 minutes, Sorin Nicorici mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca and the AVANTUL PETRICANI players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Calistrat Şerbănescu fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's protests and gave Calistrat Şerbănescu a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of AVANTUL PETRICANI booed when PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Calistrat Şerbănescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. When AVANTUL PETRICANI's Federico De Rubeis in 69 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Vlad Covrig guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in.
