William Rigg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Vlad Covrig made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when William Rigg sent off a good shot on target. In the 11th minute, The Valar's William Rigg dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Eric Astafei's late challenge caught a The Valar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eric Astafei helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Eric Astafei hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, William Rigg took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Vlad Covrig to make any attempt to save it. After a rather tough play, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Eric Astafei got a free kick in the 24th minute. William Rigg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Vlad Covrig made a huge save. Vlad Covrig made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when William Rigg sent off a good shot on target. 29 minutes had been played when some careless play by PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Codruț Uncheşu was slow to take the kick. During this time The Valar's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Codruț Uncheşu got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Vlad Covrig quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Vlad Covrig made an important save on a dangerous shot by William Rigg in the 34th minute. Vlad Covrig showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from William Rigg in the 36th minute of the match. 39 minutes into the match, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goalkeeper Vlad Covrig had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by William Rigg. William Rigg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vlad Covrig showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from William Rigg, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Vlad Covrig showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from William Rigg in the 64th minute of the match. After 65 minutes PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Codruț Uncheşu who took care of the corner kick. Manwë Vala made a great header on The Valar's corner, it was just that PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Vlad Covrig managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 80th match minute, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristi Borza to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by William Rigg in the 81st minute of play forced PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goalkeeper Vlad Covrig to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th minute William Rigg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vlad Covrig saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Constantin Hrebenciuc kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. William Rigg might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vlad Covrig. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. William Rigg ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 91st minute William Rigg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vlad Covrig saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vlad Covrig went to the wrong direction when Codruț Uncheşu was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. The Valar had played much better football throughout.
