The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cazimir Carp during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vali Piţurcă made a kick off. Cazimir Papadima was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 95th minute Stefan Pieters shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cazimir Papadima saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Champions Iasi had played much better football throughout.
