In the 20th minute Shi Ming Sheng shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Radu Tarchilă saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Iustinian Comăneci in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eulalio Urbasa saved Stiinta-Univ. from getting behind. When Stiinta-Univ.'s Shi Ming Sheng in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SuperDepor's goalie prevented a goal. Stiinta-Univ.'s Eulalio Urbasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Stiinta-Univ. from getting a goal against them. In the 40th minute Shi Ming Sheng shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Radu Tarchilă saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st minute of the match Stiinta-Univ. got a corner. SuperDepor's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Viteazul Flore ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of SuperDepor's goalie and right to Aurel Panait. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. SuperDepor's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Radu Tarchilă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Shi Ming Sheng, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Radu Tarchilă showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shi Ming Sheng in the 47th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, SuperDepor's Rareș Elian got a free kick in the 47th minute. The supporters of Stiinta-Univ. booed when SuperDepor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 49 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rareș Elian didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Iustinian Comăneci was the one to do the kick off. Eulalio Urbasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iustinian Comăneci in the 54th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Călin Bolborici during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Călin Bolborici hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Ivar Lindqvist recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Răzvan Anghel in the 68th minute of play forced Stiinta-Univ.'s goalkeeper Eulalio Urbasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 70 minutes into the match, Stiinta-Univ.'s Shi Ming Sheng sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Radu Tarchilă narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
