A well-hit corner resulted in Virgil Oargă heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After 7 played minutes Stiinta-Univ. got a freekick which was hit by Aurel Panait. In the 7th minute of the match Severino Jacinto sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eulalio Urbasa skillfully saved the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aurel Panait got free with Radu Tarchilă in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Stiinta-Univ.'s Elari Jutt got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind SuperDepor's goalkeeper Radu Tarchilă, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Eulalio Urbasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iustinian Comăneci in the 23rd minute of play. SuperDepor's Radu Tarchilă played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aurel Panait in the 28th minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, Stiinta-Univ.'s goal looked a bit too open when Iustinian Comăneci came free, but Eulalio Urbasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Iustinian Comăneci spun around in front of the goal 32 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Stiinta-Univ.'s goal. Călin Bolborici sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Radu Tarchilă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Shi Ming Sheng, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. 44 minutes into the match, SuperDepor's goalkeeper Radu Tarchilă had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Shi Ming Sheng. SuperDepor's Radu Tarchilă proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save SuperDepor from getting a goal against them. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Stiinta-Univ.'s Șerban Rușanu was substituted for Virgil Oargă. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Iustinian Comăneci stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Stiinta-Univ. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomasz Gacek to maneuver through the defense. Eulalio Urbasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iustinian Comăneci, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Iustinian Comăneci who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 55thth minute tested the skills of Eulalio Urbasa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Radu Tarchilă showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivar Lindqvist in the 65th minute of the match. Radu Tarchilă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivar Lindqvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. The audience was convinced that Ivar Lindqvist's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Radu Tarchilă was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iustinian Comăneci in the 83rd minute of play forced Stiinta-Univ.'s goalkeeper Eulalio Urbasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Shi Ming Sheng's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Radu Tarchilă read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Antoni Kachamakov advanced and headed the ball into goal, 1-1 in the 96th minute. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
