But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Octavio Ordono couldn't finish the play. Sleepy Soldiers FC's Andres Oper got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 14th minute Aurel Cornea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joonatan De Vlaeminck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aurel Cornea in the 17th minute of play forced Sleepy Soldiers FC's goalkeeper Joonatan De Vlaeminck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Jordi Paschiers's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joonatan De Vlaeminck was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. When Manfred Bruse fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ad Fundum's protests and gave Manfred Bruse a yellow card for diving instead. Constantin Budianu hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Frits Cromefeldt came free in the 24th minute and tried to tip the ball over Kajetan Dawiec, but to the joy of Ad Fundum's supporters the ball hit the crossbar and out. Tran Vrolijcx scored 0-1 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joonatan De Vlaeminck, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Andres Oper might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kajetan Dawiec. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andres Oper ran back to his position shaking his head. Ad Fundum's Kajetan Dawiec proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Ad Fundum from getting a goal against them. In the 31st minute Aurel Cornea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joonatan De Vlaeminck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomás Baldaia in the 32nd minute of play forced Sleepy Soldiers FC's goalkeeper Joonatan De Vlaeminck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fumo Alto kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manfred Bruse in the 35th minute of play forced Sleepy Soldiers FC's goalkeeper Joonatan De Vlaeminck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sleepy Soldiers FC's Joonatan De Vlaeminck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tran Vrolijcx in the 46th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Kajetan Dawiec made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andres Oper in the 51st minute of play. 52 minutes into the match, Sleepy Soldiers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Aurel Cornea came free, but Joonatan De Vlaeminck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 52 minutes into the game, Aurel Cornea recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Joonatan De Vlaeminck. Aurel Cornea showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Aurel Cornea's late challenge caught a Sleepy Soldiers FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aurel Cornea helped the player get up and apologised. In the 70th minute Ad Fundum were awarded a corner. Manfred Bruse went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 71st minute Tran Vrolijcx shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joonatan De Vlaeminck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Van Beneden in the 73rd minute of play forced Sleepy Soldiers FC's goalkeeper Joonatan De Vlaeminck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Octavio Ordono had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Shi Yi Xi hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Manfred Bruse could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Joonatan De Vlaeminck made a huge save. Ermegildo Patrido kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Joonatan De Vlaeminck made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Tomás Baldaia sent off a good shot on target. The Ad Fundum players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
