Stanny Van Gorp didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 9th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. A collision led to de belletrekkers getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Marten Merckx hit a great ball. When Manuel Roukeloes came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Young Ostend United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manuel Roukeloes couldn't finish the play. Inocencio Ariando received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Stanny Van Gorp tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Inocencio Ariando recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Young Ostend United's Romário Molina got a free kick in the 36th minute. 44 minutes into the match, Young Ostend United's goalkeeper Stanny Van Gorp had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jurgen De Rudder. In the 45th minute, Jurgen De Rudder reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Stanny Van Gorp. The goal made the score 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jason Asselberghs was the one to do the kick off. When de belletrekkers's Jurgen De Rudder in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Stanny Van Gorp was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. De-la-Cruz de Alcântara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romário Molina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 74 minutes, Alain Wans managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Young Ostend United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alain Wans was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 77 minutes into the match, Paulus Van Hove had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stanny Van Gorp. Young Ostend United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Paulus Van Hove was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. The audience was convinced that Romário Molina's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but De-la-Cruz de Alcântara was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. It was a well-played corner which Romário Molina managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After 84 played minutes de belletrekkers got a freekick which was hit by Severino Novaes. Romário Molina's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 86thth minute, De-la-Cruz de Alcântara skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 90th minute of the match Manuel Roukeloes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but De-la-Cruz de Alcântara showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 92 minutes into the match, Young Ostend United's goal looked a bit too open when Paulus Van Hove came free, but Stanny Van Gorp reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alain Wans's late challenge caught a de belletrekkers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alain Wans helped the player get up and apologised. After 93 played minutes Young Ostend United got a freekick which was hit by Alain Wans. In the 94th minute, Romário Molina hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. de belletrekkers had played much better football throughout.
