Olavarria FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mauro Kotlar in the 14th minute. 16 minutes into the match, Brugge United's goal looked a bit too open when Isaias Matas came free, but Vítor Baia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Olavarria FC's Thys Lenoir got a free kick in the 19th minute. Olavarria FC's Michel Hendrickx proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Olavarria FC from getting a goal against them. A sloppy throw-in by Leslie Macaraat in the 25th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Brugge United's Jean-Louis Rijniers. Isaias Matas took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vítor Baia. Vítor Baia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnauld Van Impe in the 60th minute of play forced Olavarria FC's goalkeeper Michel Hendrickx to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Olavarria FC's goalkeeper Michel Hendrickx, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Olavarria FC's supporters stood up full of expectation in the 86th minute of the game, when Mauro Kotlar after an extraordinary solo performance found himself with a golden opportunity in front of Brugge United's goal. Mauro Kotlar was unfortunally a little to anxious and the ball went outside the goal. 87 minutes into the game, Arthur Eekhout was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Olavarria FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Brugge United the free kick. Arthur Eekhout kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. In the 91st minute Ervigio Ojeda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vítor Baia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Michel Hendrickx showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnauld Van Impe, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Michel Hendrickx showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnauld Van Impe in the 97th minute of the match. Olavarria FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
