In the 5th match minute, VC zoetwater was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gusztáv Bács to maneuver through the defense. Connor Osmond showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from İbrahim Efe Akarsu, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. In the 11th minute Gusztáv Bács shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Connor Osmond saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. SK Mons's Connor Osmond played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bo Bo in the 12th minute of play. Gong Ying Zheng took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Steven Puttemans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernardo Sharkin in the 15th minute of play forced SK Mons's goalkeeper Connor Osmond to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gong Ying Zheng made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steven Puttemans in the 16th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, SK Mons's goal looked a bit too open when Bernardo Sharkin came free, but Connor Osmond reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rd minute Steven Puttemans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gong Ying Zheng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by İbrahim Efe Akarsu in the 28th minute of play forced SK Mons's goalkeeper Connor Osmond to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, VC zoetwater's Gong Ying Zheng got control of the ball when Steven Puttemans tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by İbrahim Efe Akarsu in the 32nd minute of play forced SK Mons's goalkeeper Connor Osmond to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Cornel Ulici had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 35 played minutes SK Mons got a freekick which was hit by Cornel Ulici. 36 minutes into the match, SK Mons's goal looked a bit too open when Gusztáv Bács came free, but Connor Osmond reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The attack was good, but when İbrahim Efe Akarsu in the 37th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Connor Osmond showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from İbrahim Efe Akarsu, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Cornel Ulici's late challenge caught a VC zoetwater's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The SK Mons fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Connor Osmond should have stopped the shot. VC zoetwater's Jan Persson was substituted for Bernardo Sharkin.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jan Persson was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trevor Eubank in the 54th minute of play forced VC zoetwater's goalkeeper Gong Ying Zheng to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Connor Osmond made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when İbrahim Efe Akarsu sent off a good shot on target. Gong Ying Zheng showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Trevor Eubank, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 68th minute of the match SK Mons got a corner. VC zoetwater's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Christoph Van den Berch ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led SK Mons's Christoph Van den Berch to fire away a dangerous shot which Gong Ying Zheng despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Yanniek Verhaert hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. 72 minutes into the game, İbrahim Efe Akarsu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Connor Osmond was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gong Ying Zheng showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Steven Puttemans, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Connor Osmond came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by VC zoetwater's Jan Persson. But to his dismay, Jan Persson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. VC zoetwater made a substitution. Fabien Pardons replaced Gusztáv Bács. Connor Osmond made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Patrik Olsson sent off a good shot on target. SK Mons's Connor Osmond played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Persson in the 84th minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, SK Mons's Steven Puttemans sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gong Ying Zheng narrowly saved just below the crossbar. SK Mons's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Christoph Van den Berch in the 86th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling İbrahim Efe Akarsu in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Connor Osmond prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 92 played minutes VC zoetwater got a freekick which was hit by Patrik Olsson. Through an outstanding action, after 94 minutes, Connor Osmond successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Cornel Ulici was shown his second yellow card after 98 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Cornel Ulici kicked well hit freekick during the 98th minute of the match. VC zoetwater played a much better game than SK Mons and deserved their victory. The SK Mons players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
