Cristian Vieri showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. The supporters of Geetsvondel² booed when Vc Brye was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stefan Ciemiega didn't get a good kick on the ball. 11 minutes into the match, Cristian Vieri notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Geetsvondel²'s Herald Wouqier. Herald Wouqier was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd rose to their feet as Gabríel Vassaras kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Herald Wouqier. That made the score 3-0 in the 14 minute of play. In the 21st minute, Cristian Vieri got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 22nd minute, Gabríel Vassaras ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Herald Wouqier was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Gabríel Vassaras received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Herald Wouqier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Herald Wouqier made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Vieri in the 32nd minute. Comunardo Cianci fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herald Wouqier having to interfere. Henri-Patrick De Mare took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henk Wouters, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Henri-Patrick De Mare made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henk Wouters in the 45th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Herald Wouqier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabríel Vassaras, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Cristian Vieri scored 5-0 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Herald Wouqier, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Henk Wouters got free with Henri-Patrick De Mare in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 68 minutes of play, Vc Brye's Gabríel Vassaras made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Herald Wouqier was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Vc Brye's Henri-Patrick De Mare got control of the ball when Henk Wouters tried to sneak it across the goal line. Geetsvondel²'s Herald Wouqier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabríel Vassaras in the 76th minute of play. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Herald Wouqier prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 96th minute, Geoffry Lefevre ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Herald Wouqier was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-1. There was no doubt that Vc Brye were the better team. Vc Brye's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
