With an extended leg and a bit of luck Florian De Vleeschauwere prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Sporting Mambo's Eric Mattsson got a free kick in the 23rd minute. In the 24th minute Mac Mon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florian De Vleeschauwere saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The FC Bruges fans' excitement grew in the 28th match minute when FC Bruges's Xavies Muñagorri looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Xavies Muñagorri spun around in front of the goal 95 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Sporting Mambo's goal. The FC Bruges supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC Bruges would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
