The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rene Vereijt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rolf Huveneers in the 5th minute of play. De Keikoppers's Lionel Van Den Broek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by William Westelinx in the 8th minute of play. If William Westelinx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joachim Van Der Meren in the 16th minute of play forced FC Ouagadougou National's goalkeeper Rene Vereijt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 22 minutes into the match, De Keikoppers's goal looked a bit too open when William Westelinx came free, but Lionel Van Den Broek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rene Vereijt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joachim Van Der Meren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 26 minutes into the match, De Keikoppers's goalkeeper Lionel Van Den Broek had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paolo Evis. In the 26th minute, FC Ouagadougou National's Paolo Evis ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Lionel Van Den Broek. Lionel Van Den Broek yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. In the 29th play minute William Westelinx came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Lionel Van Den Broek. 2-0. Rene Vereijt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Rey in the 33rd minute of play. After 34 minutes FC Ouagadougou National's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rolf Huveneers who took care of the corner kick. In the 34th minute, Geert Smidts made a precise shot to the right of Rene Vereijt. FC Ouagadougou National's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Rene Vereijt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joachim Van Der Meren in the 41st minute of the match. De Keikoppers's Joachim Van Der Meren managed to work through FC Ouagadougou National's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Joachim Van Der Meren dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

51 minutes into the match, FC Ouagadougou National's goal looked a bit too open when Rolf Huveneers came free, but Rene Vereijt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcus Eijkens kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Lionel Van Den Broek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergen Şahbender in the 55th minute of play. Sean Westelinx kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. 61 minutes into the match, FC Ouagadougou National's William Westelinx sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lionel Van Den Broek narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joachim Van Der Meren in the 63rd minute of play forced FC Ouagadougou National's goalkeeper Rene Vereijt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to De Keikoppers getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Marcus Eijkens hit a great ball. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind De Keikoppers's goalkeeper Lionel Van Den Broek, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. FC Ouagadougou National were awarded a corner in the 69th minute after De Keikoppers's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Riemer Ax took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of De Keikoppers's goalie and right to Sean Westelinx. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. De Keikoppers's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Rolf Huveneers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joachim Van Der Meren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 76 minutes into the match, De Keikoppers's goal looked a bit too open when William Westelinx came free, but Lionel Van Den Broek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 78 minutes into the match, William Westelinx had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lionel Van Den Broek. De Keikoppers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that William Westelinx was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. After 81 minutes of play, FC Ouagadougou National's William Westelinx made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lionel Van Den Broek was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 89th minute Jedrzej Kiszkiel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lionel Van Den Broek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, De Keikoppers's Marcus Eijkens got a free kick in the 90th minute. De Keikoppers's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
