Johannes Söderström was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Gnuville BK's zone, Celedonio Dominguez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Johannes Söderström came out of the goal and Celedonio Dominguez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Francesco Totti struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Johannes Söderström didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hammarby IF. If Celedonio Dominguez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Holger Vester showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Torgny Bergfeldt in the 21st minute of the match. 22 minutes into the game, Torgny Bergfeldt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gnuville BK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hammarby IF the free kick. A collision led to Gnuville BK getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Torgny Bergfeldt hit a great ball. When Celedonio Dominguez came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Hammarby IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Celedonio Dominguez couldn't finish the play. Niklas Bröms's late challenge caught a Hammarby IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Niklas Bröms helped the player get up and apologised. After 23 played minutes Gnuville BK got a freekick which was hit by Niklas Bröms. Hammarby IF's Francesco Totti got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Hammarby IF getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Gösta Söderberg hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Francesco Totti in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Johannes Söderström saved Gnuville BK from getting behind. 32 minutes into the match, Hammarby IF's Francesco Totti sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Johannes Söderström narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 35 played minutes Gnuville BK got a freekick which was hit by Torgny Bergfeldt. Holger Vester took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vidar Ödmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute, Gnuville BK's Håkan Billström seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Håkan Billström the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Gnuville BK protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Håkan Billström had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Gnuville BK fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 39th minute. Penalty! Johannes Söderström didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Francesco Totti went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After the first half Hammarby IF were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
52 minutes into the match, Gnuville BK's goal looked a bit too open when Celedonio Dominguez came free, but Johannes Söderström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 53rd minute, Gösta Söderberg made a precise shot to the right of Johannes Söderström. Gnuville BK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. In the 58th minute, Celedonio Dominguez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hammarby IF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Torgny Bergfeldt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Holger Vester having to interfere. Holger Vester showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vidar Ödmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Niklas Bröms kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. The supporters of Hammarby IF booed when Gnuville BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niklas Bröms didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celedonio Dominguez in the 76th minute of play forced Gnuville BK's goalkeeper Johannes Söderström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th match minute, Hammarby IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ola Bremming to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Celedonio Dominguez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Johannes Söderström was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Holger Vester was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Hammarby IF's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
