After a defensive mix-up in Cheetah Team's zone, Mark Forssberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claes Caspersson came out of the goal and Mark Forssberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dorel Lupșe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valter Mellin, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. The audience was convinced that Valter Mellin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dorel Lupșe was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Stig Bokelund charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Besiktas's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
