The Mellbystrand IK fans' excitement grew in the 10th match minute when Mellbystrand IK's Kurt Brogren looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sverker Skröder got free with Daniel Alrot in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With an all-out effort, IKS Norrköping's Daniel Alrot threw himself towards the right post 17 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tobias Ekeberg, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Candido Urbes in the 18th minute of play forced IKS Norrköping's goalkeeper Emanuel Sigfridsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emanuel Sigfridsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Candido Urbes, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Mellbystrand IK's Daniel Alrot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simon Dahlman in the 31st minute of play. Emanuel Sigfridsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kurt Brogren, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Daniel Alrot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Simon Dahlman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Mellbystrand IK's Leif Ahlbeck got a free kick in the 40th minute. Mellbystrand IK's Daniel Alrot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tobias Ekeberg in the 42nd minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Mellbystrand IK's Vinícius I was substituted for Nils-Åke Magnusson. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcus Hedström stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, IKS Norrköping's goal looked a bit too open when Kurt Brogren came free, but Emanuel Sigfridsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. IKS Norrköping's Yu Jing Bin was substituted for Marcus Hedström. 91 minutes into the match, Mellbystrand IK's goal looked a bit too open when Simon Dahlman came free, but Daniel Alrot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Björn Ekström in the 94thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal.
