Ingemar Åberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Pihl United booed when Syrianska FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Biagio Tana didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Luc Fontaine managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pihl United's supporters rose to their feet, but Luc Fontaine was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ingemar Åberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The throw-in from Sergio-Roberto Ramos in the 24th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Syrianska FC's Biagio Tana. Östen Hånings short, quick shot in the 25thth minute got Gottfrid Haström to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 26 played minutes Syrianska FC got a freekick which was hit by Hong Jian Lang. Syrianska FC's Ingemar Åberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Shea Caballero in the 32nd minute of play. Ingemar Åberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enrique Ferreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Syrianska FC made a substitution. Stig-Arne Melberg replaced Hong Jian Lang. In the 35th minute Pihl United were awarded a corner. Luc Fontaine went to the cornerflag to take it. Daniel Waselewicz was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 38th minute Enrique Ferreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ingemar Åberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ingemar Åberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Waselewicz, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Syrianska FC's Biagio Tana pulled a muscle in his back after 45 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Shea Caballero fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pihl United's protests and gave Shea Caballero a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Pihl United's Shea Caballero got a free kick in the 47th minute. Syrianska FC's Kees Van Bever shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 47th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Gottfrid Haström but with some difficulty. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Simon Andersson made the kick off in the second half. Syrianska FC's Marc Wayne was substituted for Simon Andersson. Pihl United's Gottfrid Haström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Östen Håning in the 66th minute of play. Östen Håning fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gottfrid Haström having to interfere. 84 minutes into the match, Syrianska FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tommy Sundberg came free, but Ingemar Åberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Syrianska FC's Sakarias Nordstedt managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Nicolaas Anelka in the 87 minute of the game. The supporters of Syrianska FC booed when Pihl United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ball Balla didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Pihl United's zone, Kees Van Bever stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gottfrid Haström came out of the goal and Kees Van Bever tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Östen Håning fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gottfrid Haström having to interfere. A collision led to Pihl United getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Chico Dias hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrique Ferreira in the 93rd minute of play forced Syrianska FC's goalkeeper Ingemar Åberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Syrianska FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Waselewicz came free, but Ingemar Åberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Pihl United supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Pihl United would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
