The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 28 played minutes Kropotkins pojkar got a freekick which was hit by Witold Kosakowski. After 29 played minutes, Oldham Athletic's Filippo Bobbio shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Per-Arne Vidman came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Oldham Athletic reached it. Tahsin Elçioğlu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Guo Han Di read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. If Cristian-Federico Dolić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tahsin Elçioğlu scored 3-0 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Guo Han Di, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Oldham Athletic's Sune Axelsson was substituted for Cristian-Federico Dolić. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tahsin Elçioğlu in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Guo Han Di saved Oldham Athletic from getting behind. In the 72nd minute Kropotkins pojkar were awarded a corner. Peder Lidström went to the cornerflag to take it. Oldham Athletic's Guo Han Di played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tahsin Elçioğlu in the 78th minute of play. In the 81st minute of the match Kropotkins pojkar got a corner. Oldham Athletic's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Peder Lidström ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 95th minute, Tahsin Elçioğlu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 96th minute, Nils-Åke Borre had to leave the field with a concussion. When Tahsin Elçioğlu fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kropotkins pojkar's protests and gave Tahsin Elçioğlu a yellow card for diving instead. Tahsin Elçioğlu hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match.
