The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute Hans-Jürgen Nudelman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Tolsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabrizio Ravanelli in the 6th minute of play forced BK Värdsholmen's goalkeeper Joel Tolsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Walter Siggman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joel Tolsson was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. Joel Tolsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walter Siggman in the 13th minute of play. The supporters of Samyang Ramen booed when BK Värdsholmen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Åke Öman didn't get a good kick on the ball. 23 minutes into the match, BK Värdsholmen's goal looked a bit too open when Göran Nordgren came free, but Joel Tolsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joel Tolsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabrizio Ravanelli in the 29th minute of the match. Fabrizio Ravanelli took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joel Tolsson. Joel Tolsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. With a little luck, Samyang Ramen's Alex Wållander got control of the ball when Bo-Erik Grelsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Joel Tolsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walter Siggman in the 44th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 51st minute, Thor Dalström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Walter Siggman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Tolsson having to interfere. Samyang Ramen made a substitution. Bo-Erik Apelkvist replaced Fabrizio Ravanelli. Thanks to some nice moves Bo-Erik Apelkvist could shoot a difficult shot in the 58th minute, which Joel Tolsson however easily saved by the left post. In the 59th minute of the match Samyang Ramen got a corner. BK Värdsholmen's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Hans-Jürgen Nudelman ran over to the corner to take the kick. 63 minutes into the match, BK Värdsholmen's goalkeeper Joel Tolsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bo-Erik Apelkvist. Walter Siggmans short, quick shot in the 64thth minute got Joel Tolsson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walter Siggman in the 66th minute of play forced BK Värdsholmen's goalkeeper Joel Tolsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A hard shot 73 in the game by Bo-Erik Apelkvist from a close distance when the talented Joel Tolsson managed to make a qualified save. BK Värdsholmen's players were relieved. Joel Tolsson was a little too slow when Sam Yang got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 77th minute. The score was now 0-3. Alex Wållander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roger Norberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 87thth minute of the game Sam Yang who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but BK Värdsholmen's Joel Tolsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the BK Värdsholmen defense, Sam Yang kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joel Tolsson. The BK Värdsholmen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joel Tolsson should have stopped the shot. Tage Brodin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alex Wållander having to interfere.
