Gil Talavera was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Blåvitt's players had a chance to rest. Andy Robertsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Evert Mellberg made a huge save. Evert Mellberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andy Robertsson in the 12th minute of play. Jarl Bredberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iustin Braniște, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Evert Mellberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andy Robertsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Apoena Herrero kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. In the 26th minute FC Blåvitt were awarded a corner. Gil Talavera went to the cornerflag to take it. 30 minutes into the match, Gil Talavera had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Evert Mellberg. The Lions's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gil Talavera was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. FC Blåvitt's Jarl Bredberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arne Jonasson in the 38th minute of play. 44 minutes into the match, The Lions's goalkeeper Evert Mellberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gil Talavera. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Gert Carlsson's late challenge caught a FC Blåvitt's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gert Carlsson helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of FC Blåvitt booed when The Lions was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gert Carlsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Apoena Herrero in the 89th minute of play forced The Lions's goalkeeper Evert Mellberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 91 played minutes The Lions got a freekick which was hit by Ermegildo Abastas. In the 92nd minute of the match Gil Talavera sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Evert Mellberg skillfully saved the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. FC Blåvitt had played much better football throughout.
