Angelino Abecia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Songur Yoran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Henry Bergvall got free with Songur Yoran in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hipolito Rico stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Damaso Orlin's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 18 minutes, Songur Yoran successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After having played for 21 minutes, Verne Everett managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Black Mamba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Verne Everett was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Arsenal FC's Damaso Orlin in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 44th minute Damaso Orlin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hipolito Rico saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When Verne Everett came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Black Mamba fans jumped to their feet.
