The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Royal Excel Mouscron's Christian Sundström got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Edgar Poe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peanut Lord in the 4th minute of the match. 4 minutes into the game, Peanut Lord cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Edgar Poe was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In a very dangerous position, a player in Royal Excel Mouscron fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 9th minute. Penalty! Royal Excel Mouscron:s Edgar Poe showed great skill when he stopped Peanut Lord:s penalty. In the 11th minute Peanut Lord shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Poe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Royal Excel Mouscron's Edgar Poe got control of the ball when Peanut Lord tried to sneak it across the goal line. Edgar Poe stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Peanut Lord's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peanut Lord in the 19th minute of play forced Royal Excel Mouscron's goalkeeper Edgar Poe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Slipmaskinerna's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Antonin Laruelle in the 20th minute. With a little luck, Royal Excel Mouscron's Edgar Poe got control of the ball when Styrbjörn Nilsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Slipmaskinerna fans' excitement grew in the 25th match minute when Slipmaskinerna's Peanut Lord looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Melker Lundblad hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antonin Laruelle got free with Edgar Poe in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 31 minutes into the match, Slipmaskinerna's goal looked a bit too open when João Augusto Fantini came free, but Billy Ek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd minute Royal Excel Mouscron were awarded a corner. Melker Lundblad went to the cornerflag to take it. Royal Excel Mouscron's Edgar Poe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peanut Lord in the 34th minute of play. Royal Excel Mouscron's defense didn't have a chance, in the 38th minute, when Peanut Lord scored to the left of an out of position Edgar Poe, making the score, 3-0. Styrbjörn Nilsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 45 minutes into the game, Christian Sundström was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Royal Excel Mouscron's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Slipmaskinerna the free kick. Christian Sundström hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and João Augusto Fantini made a kick off. Slipmaskinerna's Billy Ek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Augusto Fantini in the 53rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Peanut Lord in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edgar Poe saved Royal Excel Mouscron from getting behind. After 61 minutes Royal Excel Mouscron's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Antonin Laruelle who took care of the corner kick. Slipmaskinerna's Stig-Åke Bengtsson was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Edgar Poe in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 62nd minute Peanut Lord shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Poe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edgar Poe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Styrbjörn Nilsson in the 66th minute of the match. The supporters of Royal Excel Mouscron booed when Slipmaskinerna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jordi Alba didn't get a good kick on the ball. Slipmaskinerna's Dumetochukwu Evaggellopoulos was substituted for Styrbjörn Nilsson. In the 77th minute, Jordi Alba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edgar Poe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Per Magnusson in the 81st minute of play. Per Magnusson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edgar Poe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. Billy Ek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Kunze in the 87th minute of play. After 92 played minutes Slipmaskinerna got a freekick which was hit by Per Magnusson. The supporters of Royal Excel Mouscron booed when Slipmaskinerna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sungurhan Buminhan didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Slipmaskinerna's Per Magnusson in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Royal Excel Mouscron's goalie prevented a goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Royal Excel Mouscron players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Slipmaskinerna.
