With an all-out effort, ForestFire's Jeremy Nicholas threw himself towards the right post 17 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ben Gilliam, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 24th minute, Edgardo Silva left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The New England Minas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. ForestFire's Shaki Conn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgardo Silva in the 28th minute of play. Jeremy Nicholas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucas Navarro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tracy Shah could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Jeremy Nicholas made a huge save. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edgardo Silva to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edgardo Silva got free with Shaki Conn in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 58th minute, Edgardo Silva made a precise shot to the right of Shaki Conn. ForestFire's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edgardo Silva in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Shaki Conn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. New England Minas's Zachery Church was substituted for Roman Major. After 67 played minutes ForestFire got a freekick which was hit by Joseph Reeder. ForestFire's Shaki Conn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgardo Silva in the 69th minute of play. Shaki Conn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgardo Silva, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. In the 74th minute, Lucas Navarro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. ForestFire's Todd Mayes was substituted for Danial Dunbar.
