New England Minas were awarded a corner in the 7th minute after Khachatryan's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Glen Conklin took the corner. In the 17th minute, Merlin Castro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Khachatryan fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. New England Minas's Edgardo Silva got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With his leg Tigran Balayan managed to avoid a goal in the 48thth minute, when New England Minas's Tio Lio fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Tigran Kirakosyan in the 52ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jeremy Nicholas, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. A collision led to New England Minas getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Tony Pacheco hit a great ball. In the 54th minute of the match, Tigran Kirakosyan got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jeremy Nicholas was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Tigran Balayan came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by New England Minas's Edgardo Silva. But to his dismay, Edgardo Silva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. After having played for 63 minutes, Edgardo Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New England Minas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgardo Silva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. New England Minas made a substitution. Ye Gang Cheng replaced Lalo Rosas. Khachatryan's Kurtis Wooten was substituted for Hu Wei Shu. In the 67th minute, Tony Pacheco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Merlin Castro in the 70th minute of play forced New England Minas's goalkeeper Jeremy Nicholas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sung McKinley got free with Jeremy Nicholas in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 91 minutes, Tony Pacheco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New England Minas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tony Pacheco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tigran Balayan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arturo Sito, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. The supporters of Khachatryan booed when New England Minas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xiao Bang Kun didn't get a good kick on the ball. New England Minas's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
